How to choose your next ebook (and actually finish it)

Most of us have a folder of unread guides. Choosing better is easier than reading faster. Ask these three questions before you buy.
1. What will I do differently on Monday?
A good guide changes something you do within a week. If you can't name the change, you're collecting, not learning. Write one sentence: "After this I will ___." If it's vague, wait.
2. How long will it really take?
Be honest about your time. A 40-page guide fits into four evenings of twenty minutes. A 300-page book needs a plan you probably won't keep. Short guides with one idea per chapter have the best finish rate for a reason.
3. Does it come with something to fill in?
Worksheets, checklists and templates turn reading into doing. Look for them on the product page, under "What is included". If a guide is only text, plan to take your own notes.
A quick filter
- Clear promise in one line
- Under 70 pages
- At least one worksheet or template
- A sample chapter or detailed contents
If a guide ticks three of four, buy it, and read it the same week while the motivation is fresh.
